Medication For Restless Leg Syndrome What is Restless Leg Syndrome ? Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological problem characterized by horrible feelings in the legs and an irrepressible urge to move whilst at rest in an attempt to relieve these feelings. RLS sensations are often described by folks as burning, creeping, tugging, or like insects crawling inside the legs. Often called paresthesias (abnormal sensations) or dysesthesias (unpleasant abnormal sensations), the sensations range in severity from uncomfortable to irritating to excruciating.

The most distinctive or curious aspect of the condition is that lying down and attempting to relax activates the symptoms. As a consequence, most people with RLS have problems falling asleep and staying asleep. Left untreated, the condition causes exhaustion and daytime fatigue. Many people with RLS state that their job, personal relations, and activities of daily living are adversely affected as a result of their exhaustion. They are often unable to concentrate, have impaired recall, or fail to accomplish daily tasks thus wanting some sort of medication for restless leg syndrome. Medication for Restless Leg Syndrome Some researchers estimate that RLS affects as many as 12 million Americans. However, others estimate a much higher occurrence since RLS is thought to be under diagnosed and, in some cases, misdiagnosed. Some people with RLS will not seek remedial attention, believing that they will not be taken sincerely, that their symptoms are too mild, or that their condition is not treatable. Some physicians wrongly attribute the symptoms to anxiety, sleeplessness, stress, arthritis, muscle cramps, or just plain getting old.

Although the syndrome may kick off at any age, even as early as infancy, most patients who are severely affected are middle-aged or older. In addition, the severity of the disorder appears to increase in intensity with age. Older patients experience symptoms more often and for longer periods of time.

More than 80 percent of people with RLS also experience a more common condition known as periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD). PLMD is characterized by involuntary leg twitching or jerking movements through sleep that typically occur every 10 to 60 seconds, sometimes throughout the night. The symptoms cause repeated awakening and severely disrupted sleep. Unlike RLS, the movements caused by PLMD are involuntary-people have no control over them. Migraines Can Truly Impact Your Life In A Negative Way

You could be having a great day, everything is going right and then all of a sudden it hits you. Migraines can be the stopper of a good time and can put you in a bad mood quicker than ever.

Having a migraine can give you many different symptoms. The symptoms may be different for each person that experiences it. While the symptoms can vary by person, there are some common ailments that come along with a migraine.

Head pain during a migraine is a given. That is the first thing that you think of when you think about having a migraine. The head pain can be on the lighter end or can be a full blown throbbing headache. The throbbing that is common with a migraine often is felt in the temple area or in the back or sides of the head.

Some people claim that they feel the pain from a migraine more on one side or the other of their head. There is not determining factor as to which side the pain will be on. It may feel like the pain is worth on one side or it may be spread evenly over your entire head and neck area.

Other than the pain symptoms, you can also have some physical problems. A migraine can make you have a sour stomach and feel like you are going to throw up. You can feel nauseous the entire time that the migraine is going on.

Other times you will get an extreme sensitivity to light when a migraine comes on. The easiest ways to relieve the discomfort caused by almost any light source is to lye down in the dark and avoid almost any light at all.

Sometimes when a migraine hits you will be in a very noisy place. As the migraine gets worse you will feel like every noise is amplified and is just making your head feel as if it is splitting open.

Science has given us some excellent medications to treat migraines. The unpredictability of a migraine headache can make it very difficult to diagnose. You should defiantly follow up with a physician if you feel that the severe headaches are happening on a regular basis for you.

If your doctor does give you a prescription for a migraine medication, keep it with you everywhere you go. Migraines can come on very quickly and you never know where you will be when the next one hits. When it comes to back pain, people of all ages experience the problem of having lower back pain. Over 80% of individuals who are over 50 will suffer from arthritis pain including arthritis back pain. Arthritis can affect any part of your body and spinal arthritis can be particularly painful. Spinal arthritis occurs when the disc between the vertebrae is worn down and the bones rub together. These discs, cartilage, vertebrae and other connecting ligaments and muscles are necessary to move. Arthritis can affect any area where two bones have the potential to rub together.

Arthritis in the spine occurs when the cartilage or discs wear down. The wear and tear can be from aging, injury, bone spurs, bone overgrowth, or misuse. The pain from arthritis is from swelling when the bones rub together as the cartilage is no longer protecting the joint. Arthritis can cause pain and stiffness in the neck or lower back. Cervical arthritis affects the neck and upper spine. Arthritis in the pelvic and lower back is known as lumbar arthritis.

Certain lifestyles will lead to a greater percentage of individuals suffering from spinal arthritis. Older individuals, those who play sports or use their joints for work, individuals with injuries and obese individuals are very likely to suffer arthritis back pain as they get older.

Individuals with a genetic disposition for diabetes, liver disease and cancer, and individuals with a weakened immune system are all more likely to develop arthritis back pain or spinal arthritis. Women are also more likely to have arthritis than men.

Spinal arthritis has many symptoms in common with more serious diseases and you need to get a diagnosis as soon as possible. With a correct diagnosis, treating arthritis back pain effectively is much easier.
